Spider-Geddon: Spider-Man[1] is a motion comic tie-in to the 2018 comic book event called Spider-Geddon[2]. It features the Spider-Man from this series being recruited to fight against a threat to every Spider-Man and Spider-Woman in the Multiverse.

Synopsis

Spider-Man may live in an animated world, but his headaches are about to get very real when someone’s attacking the wax museum![3]

Plot

While investigating a Wax museum, Spider-Man finds himself being attacked by Wax figures of the Avengers and famous people from the past and present. It's revealed that this is the work of Mysterio, and after defeating him Spider-Man is recruited by Spider-Punk to help other Spider-Men save the multiverse.

Continuity

There is no possible way the motion comic could take place in the timeline of Marvel's Spider-Man due to too many continuity errors seen throughout the plot. Given the placement, it would have to happen sometime in-between the events of the Bring on The Bad Guys Saga and before Brain Drain due to the appearance of Mysterio. However, Spider-Man would have been exhausted anytime after his fight with Mysterio and rushing to build his open-house project for Horizon High. Another argument is the appearance of Thor (who Spider-Man has never met) and Green Goblin (who only appears in the series merchandise) who have their designs from the first season of the previous show Ultimate Spider-Man.

Trivia

  • Despite being voice by Robbie Daymond in the series, Griffin Burns voices Spider-Man in the motion comic.
  • This motion comic aired a month after the infamous season 2 hiatus, specifically on October 31st, 2018.
  • Thor and Green Goblin use character their character designs from Ultimate Spider-Man due to having never made an appearance in the series as of the motion comics airing. Thor's design is specifically from the first season of the previous series Ultimate Spider-Man.
  • This would be the last time Kevin Shinick contributes to the series.
  • Kevin Shinick has stated "It was intended to be canon but I honestly don’t know where it landed in the scheme of things."[4]
  • Despite being a tie-in for Spider-Geddon, the Spider-Man from this series never appeared during the comic book storyline, nor is mentioned in the Spider-Geddon Handbook. This also leaves the series without an official Marvel Universe Reality Number.
    • The Marvel Appendix, a fansite that serves as a reference for many things in Marvel Comics history, has found a reality number for the series as Earth-17628 but has not listed the source of where it was founded. Due to the reliability of the website this will be kept as the series' reality number until proven otherwise.
  • Due to Spider-Punk recruiting him, this Spider-Man joined the Superior Spider-Army. This is ironic given that the next few episodes of the series made up the Superior Spider-Man Saga.
