Marvel's Spider-Man Animated Series Wiki

It’s now Peter Parker’s “sophomore year” and he’s no longer an inexperienced new superhero nor a brand new student at the intimidating Horizon High. But his foes are also no longer inexperienced and his ever-growing Rogue’s Gallery is now again focused on taking Spider-Man down. Picking up where Season One left off, the stakes are much higher in both Peter's personal life and super hero life. Peter must balance working at the Daily Bugle to afford tuition at Horizon High while surviving Doc Ock.[1]

Trivia

  • This is the first season not to have the involvement of Kevin Shinick. He created, supervised, and wrote some episodes of season one.
    • Shinick's last contribution to the series was a motion comic for the show that was a tie-in to the Spider-Geddon comic book event.
  • From this season onward Kevin Burke and Chris "Doc" Wyatt takeover as supervising producers from Kevin Shinick.
  • The second half of season 2 was promoted as a celebration of Marvel Comics' 80th anniversary.
  • The Vibranium Curtain Part Two from Avengers: Black Panther's Quest takes place sometime before the events of season 2.
  • There were reports of a second voice role for Stan Lee in season 2, but either it was false or moved to season 3 before his passing.
    • Stan Lee's second appearance in Season 2 may have been the flashback of Peter's time as a wrestler in the episode My Own Worst Enemy.
    • When Chris "Doc" Wyatt was asked about Stan Lee's cameos in Season 3 or any of the future Marvel shows he said "Stan's loss was too hard. When he walked in, it was a light turning on. Dark when he was gone. We never even discussed more cameos of Stan without Stan there to voice them."[2]
  • This season is infamously known for having a one-year hiatus between it's thirteenth and fourteenth episodes.
  • This season was released on the Disney Plus streaming service the 31st of December.
  • Harry Osborn was absent for a majority of the season.
  • For unknown reasons, the second half of season two was never added to the Amazon Prime video streaming service when it resumed airing. The second half of season two was added to Amazon Prime video sometime in 2020, but it is a separate purchase from Season one and the first thirteen episodes of season two.
  • Samples of the songs The Shutdown by Wolfgang Black and Supernatural by Emanuel Vo Williams and Robin Loxley were used in the Superior Spider-Man saga trailer.
