Trivia[]
- This special is based on the LEGO Spider-Man playset: Spider-Mech vs. Venom.[1]
- Because of the last two LEGO Marvel specials combining elements of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and then airing animated series, many fans assumed that Vexed by Venom, when it was only known as a LEGO Spider-Man special, was going to combine elements of Marvel's Spider-Man with the then-upcoming movie Spider-Man: Far From Home.
- Despite being promoted as the second antagonist alongside Venom, Green Goblin's role in Vexed by Venom is very minor.
- This would also be the only time Josh Keaton had the opportunity to play Green Goblin.
- Spider-Man's design is based on his All-New, All-Different appearance, Gwen Stacy's design is based on her appearance in Marvel Rising, Mary Jane, Ghost-Spider, and Venom are inspired by their classic comic book looks, while Green Goblin's appearance is based on his design from the promotional material for Marvel's Spider-Man, as well as the Marvel Adventures and the Marvel Knights comics.
- Tara Strong reprises her role as Mary Jane from Ultimate Spider-Man in the special.
- Doctor Octopus appears at the end of the fifth episode, but his actor isn't listed in the cast list.
- While in Big Figure form, Venom's logo changes to one featured on the Ultimate Spider-Man based Minifigure.
- Spider-Man's spider-sense was able to warn him of Venom attempting to attack him from behind during their fight on the Roxxon building. This could have been an oversight on the writers since the spider-sense is unable to detect any symbiotes.
- It's also possible that the spider-sense detected Venom's mech suit and not the symbiote specificallly.
