Jefferson Davis is the father of Miles Morales. His first appearance in the episode Ultimate Spider-Man, and he was revealed to be the villain Swarm in Generations.
Appearance
Physical appearance
Jefferson is an African-American adult male with brown eyes and a grey beard.
As Swarm his outfit, specifically the design of his helmet, is based on the head of a bee, and because of allowing himself to be experimented on his body is completely composed of bees now.
Personality
Jefferson Davis is a kind mind who only cares about the well-being of his son Miles Morales. He initially said that Miles could learn a lesson about strength and intelligence from Spy-D (and Spider-Man) until he developed a hatred for the red-and-black wallcrawler.
As Swarm, Jefferson has an enthusiastic personality as seen when the Web-Warriors were having trouble against the rhinos and spider-monsters in the beginning of the Underground Monster League.
History
Relationships
Miles Morales/Spy-D
Jefferson cares for his Miles deeply. He tries to bestow in him that using brains over brawn is the way to solve problems.
As Spy-D, Jefferson was grateful for having his life saved by him during the fight against the Spider-Slayers. Jefferson even said that Spy-D taught him that both brains and brawn are important and wishes that he could meet his son Miles (who he wasn't aware is Spy-D).
However, it is revealed in Generations that Jefferson Davis actually loathed Spy-D for when Spencer and Alistair Smythe attacked his neighbor in order to capture him. To Miles' surprise, Jefferson was actually the supervillain Swarm, having accepted Norman's offer to transform himself into the villain to take down Spy-D. After Spy-D revealed himself to be his son, Miles Morales, Jefferson fled their fight from the shock of the reveal.
Peter Parker/Spider-Man

When meeting Spider-Man for the first time, Swarm wanted to transform him into a Spider-Monster for his Underground Monster League, citing that his viewers would pay a large amount of money to see a Spider-Monster in the ring.
Anya Corazon/Spider-Girl
Swarm has his mutant Rhinos capture Spider-Girl, Ghost-Spider, and Spy-D to compete in his Underground Monster League. During the final half of the league, he used his bees to control her, Ghost-Spider, and Spy-D into fighting Spider-Man.
Gwen Stacy/Ghost-Spider
Swarm has his mutant Rhinos capture Ghost-Spider, Spider-Girl, and Spy-D to compete in his Underground Monster League. During the final half of the league, he used his bees to control her, Spider-Girl, and Spy-D into fighting Spider-Man.
Aleksei Sytsevich/Rhino
Norman or Curt Connors told Swarm of Aleksei being the Rhino and used him as a combatant in his Underground Monster League alongside two other people transformed into Rhinos.
Norman Osborn
Jefferson agreed to work for Norman as Swarm to get revenge against Spy-D for leading Spencer and Alistair to his neighborhood with their Spider-Slayers.

Trivia
- This is the first full animated appearance of Jefferson Davis.
- This is Swarm's fourth animated appearance following Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Marvel Super Hero Adventures, but the first time Jefferson Davis has been the character.
- Similar to the character's appearances in Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends and Ultimate Spider-Man, this version of Swarm is not Fritz von Meyer.
- However, unlike the previous Spider-Man shows this version of Swarm is made of living bees just like Fritz von Meyer.
- Unlike his character from the Marvel Comics, Jefferson appears to be older and had no initial dislike of Spider-Man at all.
- Also unlike the comic, Jefferson and his family appear to not have any money problems since Miles is able to attend a school like Horizon High.
- It would actually be revealed in Generations that Jefferson did hate Spider-Man, and more specifically Spy-D, for having the Smythe's fight them in his neighborhood with their Spider-Slayers. This is what lead Jefferson to become the supervillain Swarm.
- Not counting his first appearance as Swarm, Jefferson Davis has the longest gap in appearances than other characters in the show.
- Jefferson Davis becoming Swarm is most likely a reference to Aaron Davis, Jefferson's younger brother and Miles' uncle in the Marvel Comics, who is the second person (in the current continuity) to go by the alias of Prowler. Unlike Davis, Jefferson became a villain in order to protect his son from Spy-D and the other Web-Warriors.
- Swarm's appearance in Spider-Man Unmasked was spoiled by Kevin Manthei, the composer for Marvel's Spider-Man, after he uploaded pieces of the soundtrack from the various episodes of Maximum Venom. Music from Spider-Man Unmasked was featured before the episode's title was revealed. At some point, he removed a majority of the music of Spider-Man Unmasked from his Soundcloud after word of it got out.
- Swarm singling Miles out was initially assumed to have been a reference to Alex Desert having voice Jefferson before he voiced Swarm.
