Jack O' Lantern is a villain in Marvel's Spider-Man. He makes his first appearance in Bring on the Bad Guys Part Three.
History[]
Jack O' Lantern is one of the many supervillains attacking Spider-Man in an attempt to claim the massive bounty placed on him. He first appears attacking Spider-Man while the Web-Head is trying to save a bus from falling off the Brooklyn Bridge. While Spider-Man is dealing with this, Jack sets his webbing on fire, all the while cackling and spewing Halloween related jokes, much to Spidey's annoyance. Thankfully, Spider-Man succeeds in rescuing the passengers and battles Jack across the city. Their scuffle eventually leads them to Jack's hideout, an abandoned candy factory filled with crude Halloween decorations.
While looking for Spider-Man in the warehouse, Jack slips about the bounty placed on the Web-Head, though he refuses to directly tell Spider-Man who his benefactor is. Eventually, Spider-Man decides to use Jack O' Lantern's obsession with Halloween against him, distracting the villain by asking him 'Trick or Treat'. While Jack is busy swooning over the fact that this is the first time someone has asked him this question, Spidey uses this as an opening to knock him into a vat of candied apple coating. Trapped in the hardened shell of caramel, Jack O' Lantern was then left for the police.
Personality[]
Jack O' Lantern is shown to be a very unhinged individual, bordering on being completely insane. Not too surprisingly, he is obsessed with Halloween, and everything affiliated with the holiday. Jack is constantly cracking Halloween-themed jokes and puns to the point where Spider-Man begins to seriously question the man's sanity. His mania for the holiday is so strong, he reveals that he plans on using the money from the bounty to fill his hideout with even more Halloween decorations.
Abilities[]
Expert Swordsmanship[]
Jack is highly skilled with his scythe, using it several times throughout their fight with ease.

Jack is an excellent shot, wielding his various guns and bombs with deadly accuracy.
Hand-to-Hand Combat[]
Despite Spider-Man's enhanced strength and reflexes, Jack is capable of battling him to a standstill.
Weaknesses[]
Mental Instability[]
Jack O' Lantern's fixation with all things Halloween borders on an overwhelming obsession, which can be used against him. Spider-Man takes advantage of this during their fight, distracting Jack long enough to defeat him.
Equipment[]
Jack O' Lantern suit[]
Jack's suit is outfitted with a helmet that resembles a flaming pumpkin, as well as compartments for all his various weapons, including his scythe, bombs, and flame thrower.

A powder that induces itching when applied onto human skin. Jack’s powder is so strong, Spider-Man was forced to remove most of his costume and spend the rest of their fight in his underwear. Much to his embarrassment.
Jack O' Lantern's glider[]
Jack O' Lantern's favored means of travel is a jet-propelled, circular platform that stays level by means of an internal gyroscope. The glider is capable of flying at high speeds or hover in place, but the rider is always exposed to an attack.
