Guardians of the Galaxy

The Guardians of the Galaxy are a group of intergalactic heroes bent on protecting the universe from various cosmic threats. The team consists of Star-Lord, Gamora, Draxx the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot. While they will make their first appearance on the show during the third season, Spider-Man has made a guest appearance in the third season of their show. "The Symbiote Wars" and "Back in the New York Groove" storylines from their series is partially responsible for the events that will come into play in the third season of Marvel's Spider-Man: Maximum Venom.

The Guardians of the Galaxy series has had many crossovers with Avengers Assemble, which was in the same continuity as Ultimate Spider-Man; however, the third season Guardians of the Galaxy series, as well as fourth season of Assemble, featured the symbiotes as aliens, while in Ultimate Spider-Man, the symbiotes were created by Doctor Octopus. This series version of Spider-Man having made guest appearances in both shows seems to confirm that later seasons of both shows take place in the same universe as Marvel's Spider-Man.
- The Road to Maximum Venom recap video confirms that the entirety of Guardians of the Galaxy takes place in this series' universe.
  - This is supported by The Avengers (in their updated Ultron Revolution designs) having never met the Guardians, while in Assemble, they knew them since season one, which was before Ant-Man joined the team.
  - This is further supported by the fact that in Guardians, The Avengers had no idea who Thanos was, despite him being the main antagonist during Avengers' second season.
The Guardians are the first group of heroes to have bonded with a symbiote(s), Gamora being the first hero to bond with one.
The Guardians as a group are the second heroes Peter has revealed his identity to, after Miles Morales .
