Trivia
- This is the first appearance of the Jackal since Spider-Island Part Five and Raymond Warren (as a hologram) since Brain Drain.
- This is the first appearance of Norman Osborn since The Hobgoblin Part Two. He previously a cameo appearances in the episodes The Living Brain in Peter's memories and My Own Worst Enemy in Otto's memories.
- The is the first animated appearance of someone using the Tarantula villain name.
- It was initially believed that Anya's step-sister Maria had become the villain Tarantula, but it was actually Chameleon in disguise.
- The synopsis for part two alludes to Swarm having some sort of connection to Miles.
- It is revealed that Jefferson Davis is Swarm, and that his grudge against Miles as Spy-D stems from the episode Ultimate Spider-Man. Miles reveals his identity to Jefferson and he flees from fighting Miles in shock.
- Miles', "My Dad is bees" line originates from the twitter handle of this episodes co-writer Mae Catt.[2]
- Norman is revealed to have known that Peter, Miles, Gwen, and Anya are Spider-Man, Spy-D, Ghost-Spider, and Spider-Girl respectively. Jackal was revealed to know that Gwen was Ghost-Spider.
- It is possible that Norman figured out their identities while recuperating underneath Horizon High. Norman's been hiding underneath the school since season 2 of the series as seen by him viewing security footage of Spider-Man and Venom's fight at Horizon. Norman could have easily seen Peter, Miles, Gwen, and Anya change into their costumes through security cameras.
- It is also possible that Connor's gave them the information after eavesdropping on Miles, Gwen, and Anya in Spider-Man Unmasked. It would be the only explanation for Chameleon being able to impersonate Maria to fight Anya since she has never been Spider-Girl around Norman or Jackal.
- The device Norman was recuperating in is similar to the machine that turns him into the Green Goblin from various media. The machine would lead to his Dark Goblin transformation.
- After defeating Norman as the Dark Goblin, Max is given his job and ownership of Horizon back after Peter shows the footage to the Head Administrator and the Board of Education.
- Doctor Connor's is revealed to have been working for Norman in order to gain a cure for his over exposure to the lizard formula. Norman lied to him about ever having a cure and now Connor's is once again the Lizard.
- The Seed is what was used on Norman to transform him into the Dark Goblin. He gained the idea after watching footage of Venom battle Spider-Man.
- One synopsis for Generations mentioned Norman using Venom to become the Dark Goblin and accidentally setting the symbiote free, however this never happened in the episode.
- Ironically, Norman unintentionally proved that Max's research on the synthetic-symbiote is possible. After having the Dark Goblin symbiote removed from his body, Norman's missing limbs (his arm and foot) were restored.
- Miles, Gwen, and Anya were suppose to join Peter and Harry at Q's Cup O' Joes in the last few minutes of the episode as seen in Kelly Kao's storyboards. According to Kao, Miles, Gwen, and Anya were most likely left out of the final animation due to the episode becoming to long while storyboarding it.[3]
Errors
- As known, Gwen has no spider-sense since her power comes from the spider virus, later activated by the blood gem. So it doesn't make sense for the Jackal to say that he used the Symbiote so that her spider-sense wouldn't be activated. However, it is entirely possible that the Jackal was unaware that Gwen didn't have Spider Sense like Miles and Peter do.
- Some synopsis' for the episode mistakenly said that Norman would use Venom to achieve his Dark Goblin form instead of the symbiote seed.
