Eugene "Flash" Thompson is a supporting character in Marvel's Spider-Man. He was a bully and classmate of Peter Parker's at Midtown High, but eventually learned to put his bullying ways behind him and became one of Peter's friends.

Peter Parker

Before the series began, Flash used bully Peter for being a nerd. At some point, Flash's bullying turned into friendly teasing as seen in Sandman. After the events of Venom, it's made clear that the two are now friends with Flash giving Peter the nickname Tiny Tutor and saving him from his friends who were going to gang up on Peter for returning to Horizon.

Mary Jane Watson

Season 1 (retconned)

Flash and Mary Jane appeared to be good friends. Flash was seen cheering for Mary Jane to get the crowd excited for Midtown High's football game against Truman High.

Horizon High gang

When Peter formally introduced Flash to Miles, Gwen, and Anya he called them eggheads, but he was using the term as a nickname instead of an insult. Miles, Gwen, and Anya were not aware of this and in return, they figured Flash was a meathead based on how his appearance and demeanor.

In Stark Expo, the ground congratulated Flash for winning the Stark Expo with his paper mache volcano.

Trivia

  • Flash becoming Venom in this series is a nod to the comics, where he was bonded with the symbiote and became Agent Venom.
  • While Flash was Venom he resembled Eddie Brock's original design from the comics.
    • Likewise, Eddie Brock as Venom resembled Mac Gargan's (Scorpion's) Venom from the comics.
  • Flash being the first one to become Venom in this series is possibly a nod to the Ultimate Spider-Man TV series, which had the Symbiote first bond to Flash for a brief moment in it's first appearance.
  • Flash's physical appearance is slightly similar to his counterpart from the 2012 film, The Amazing Spider-Man.
  • Flash is the only student from Midtown High to be shown interacting with Peter (and Ock in Peter's body) when Peter is transferred back to the school.
